What is a PA

Physician assistants are healthcare professionals who practice medicine as part of a team with physicians.

 

PAs Are:

  • Certified Nationally, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Licensed in Florida

PAs deliver a broad range of medical and surgical services, including:

  • Conduct physical exams 
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses 
  • Order and interpret tests 
  • Counsel on preventive health care 
  • Assist in surgery 
  • Prescribe medications
